In London on 17th January 2013, ASCO, an international oil and gas services company, was named the winner of the Project Forwarding award at the British International Freight Association (BIFA) awards – for the fourth time.

The company collected the 2012 award for providing air and sea logistics support for a drilling campaign in Western Greenland.
The judges commented:

“ASCO impressed the judges by providing an exceptional service for a truly time-critical project in Greenland. Besides taking on the logistics and challenges posed by mother nature, the training of local personnel and skills gained have benefited the logistics industry in that country by leaving a legacy for the future.”

Ed Arnott, Director of ASCO’s UK Freight Management division, added:

“I am personally delighted that our project forwarding services have been recognised by BIFA at these prestigious freight services awards for the second year in a row; and fourth time in eight years. The BIFA judging panel summarised that we provided an exceptional service, supporting a truly time-critical operation in a frontier location. I think this pretty much encapsulates and reflects the efforts and dedication of our complete freight forwarding team at ASCO, as well as all those from within the wider ASCO team who all pulled together to provide our client with a comprehensive integrated logistics service.”

ASCO won the same award last year for the support it provided following the tragic oil disaster in the US Gulf of Mexico.
The BIFA awards, now in their 24th year, are recognised as one of the most prestigious in the industry. The competition encourages and rewards high standards and professionalism, representing the ultimate recognition of special achievements in different sectors of the industry.
