Bowmans Intermodal appoint first CEO to steer the future of the business

Scott McKayBowmans Intermodal’s Board of Directors is very pleased to announce the appointment of Scott McKay to the new role of chief executive officer (CEO) assuming responsibilities on 30 October 2015.

After an extensive selection process, both internally and externally, the Bowmans Intermodal Board of Directors determined that Mr McKay was the best candidate to manage strategy and further grow the organisation.

“We have seen tremendous growth especially in recent times with new contract wins resulting in a doubling in business size,” Chairman of the Bowmans Intermodal Board of Directors Malcolm May said.

“The time is right for us to now take the decision of appointing a CEO to manage the future direction of the company and Scott is the perfect choice for this role having worked with us as a strategic consultant for the past two years assisting with supply chain operations, business development and customer engagement.”

Prior to the last nine years in supply chain and infrastructure consulting, Mr McKay was CEO of e-Fill Warehousing and Transport Group and held general management positions in supply chain for George Weston Foods and Pacific Brands Clothing Group. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Bowmans Intermodal is the largest inland port in Australia and provides road and rail container transfer and storage infrastructure to Australian importers and exporters accessing the port of Adelaide. Operating since 2003 and handling over 25,000 TEU per annum, Bowmans Intermodal provide services to the mining, primary production and other industry sectors.

Bowmans Intermodal is a joint venture between Toll Group, AGT Foods Australia (formerly Australia Milling Group) and Balco.
