Container Ship Rena ready to Break Up.

The Container Ship Rena, is currently being battered by bad weather off the coast of Tauranga, New Zealand. Although salvage operators have removed over 1000 Tonnes of oil from the ship there is still 350 Tonnes yet to be removed.
The Container Ship Rena ran into a reef off the coast of Tauranga, New Zealand on the 5th of October 2011. Since the grounding, salvage operators have been working tirelessly to remove oil from the ship.
Of the 1288 containers on board, 88 containers have been lost overboard. Of those 88 containers, 50 containers are yet to be located.
Containers cannot be offloaded until all the oil has been removed.
Latest reports coming in have indicated new buckling in the hull of the ship. Given the rough weather, Maritime New Zealand is gearing up for the worst case scenario, which has the ship breaking in half.
