Red Arrow Logistics Alert - Hurricane Sandy

by Hurricane Sandy on 2012-10-29 22:10:01

Hurricane Sandy is currently making landfall on the eastern seaboard of the United States.  Supply chain disruptions will result from flooding, road and facility closures.

Historically, cargo thieves have been known to utilize these events to target high value cargo as often loads are forced sit at rest for longer periods of time in unsecured locations.

Red Arrow recommends precautions be taken to minimize exposure during this time.   Shipments in route to the northeast should confirm highways are open and the destination is receiving shipments over the next two to three days.  Drivers who are forced to park shipments due to extreme weather should be briefed on the heightened risk and be required to stay with the shipment at all times.

Red Arrow is remotely managing freight and disaster relief into this region 24 hours.
