The Vert-A-Pac System, it had potentialby GLM Images on 2015-05-11 02:54:08
In the ‘70s, GM came up with an innovative way of shipping cars via rail, its called the Vert-A-Pac. GM was able to double the amount of cars per carriage by loading 30 vertically. Unfortunately the theory was good, but the practicalities not so good. The cars would turn up damaged, and most wouldn't start, needless to say this method of shipping by rail didn't last long.
