Chaminda Gunasekera Info

Chaminda Gunasekera is the Partner/Chief Commercial Officer of Freight Links International and Cargo Plan International, two companies based in the Sub Continent operating out of Sri Lanka. Before he relocated to Sri Lanka , he spent close to 9 years in North Asia. He was the  Vice President –Sales & Marketing , Head of Air freight of Agility Logistics in Greater China , based in Hong Kong . Chaminda has held senior positions in Bax Global as Sales Director for China , Director of International Business Development for Kerry Logistics , based in Shanghai . Before working in China and Hong Kong , Chaminda worked for Bax Global as the CEO for Sub Continent & West Africa region . Prior to Bax Global , he was at Cathay Pacific Cargo.

Chaminda is specialized in Fashion Retail , High tech as vertical markets and also one of the known specialists in multi model products in the world . in 2012 ,Chaminda designed and launched the world’s largest neutral NVOCC Sea-Air product via Dubai and Colombo. Prior to this he has designed and implemented at least 3 sea-air products in his last 3 companies where some of the products are in the top 5 raking in the world. Chaminda has also designed and implemented the first online Air Cargo hub in Baltic states using Kaunas in Lithuania as a air gateway during his term in Agility Logistics.

In recent past , Chaminda has been promoting sustainability solutions for supply chain using his expertise on multi model transport (sea-air) and other solutions designs for supply chain. He has introduced the first sea-air hub in Sri Lanka as solution for the North Asian markets to reduce cycle time and offer greater flexibility for coast savings and carbon emission savings .
