Prior to using any Social Media platforms to drive your businesses/sales, you need to better understand the fundamental characteristics of each individual platform. For example, you can only use 'Real Name' in Facebook, you tweet for your interests in Twitter and you'll be networking with 'Many Unknown People' in LinkedIn.

None of those. Still newspaper, radio, and television are more effective media

Facebook can be the first choice as nowadays facebook is used by all.

No platform would automatically lead to sales generation. All platform would enhance visibility which then can be used to enhance sales (through lead generation). From a thought leadership perspective, Twitter & Slide Share Combo works nice. Twitter and Blog Combo also works nice ( we have yet to start this combo to that extent yet though). From a day-to-day stuff, Facebook works to a certain extent (FB would work better if someone is in B2C segment of Logistics e.g. relocations etc.). LinkedIn, for some reason, has not proven to be a good tool from all these perspective. It works best on an individual but not that good for companies. A combo of Twitter and Linkedin was OK but recent decision of Twitter that ‘no tweets would pop in LinkedIn’ has added to the woes of LinkedIn.
We (Genex Logistics) as an organization are using Twitter, SlideShare, Facebook, LinkedIn and also have started using Blog.
